Thanks to the 2025 Support for presentation in international conferences, I was able to attend the TeVPA conference in Valencia, Spain. This international conference brings together researchers from a variety of fields within astroparticle physics, highlighting recent advances in theoretical and observational multi-messenger astrophysics.
I gave a talk on “Interacting supernovae: super-PeV cosmic ray candidates that explain the nuclear composition trends.” The astrophysical sources of very high energy cosmic rays are unknown, despite having a well measured energy spectrum. In my presentation, I described my group’s theoretical model for interacting supernovae and explained how they may be the solution to this cosmic ray problem.
Attending the conference afforded me an excellent opportunity to discuss my work with experts and non-experts in the broader international community of multi-messenger astrophysics. Answering audience questions and talking over coffee allowed me to consider feedback on my work, realize future research directions, and make new connections.
