Title | Efficient Synthesis of ASP2397, a unique transporter of "inorganic" metals to "organicrgan" microbes |
---|---|
Priod | 2023-2024 |
Metal atoms such as iron or aluminum are “inorganic” but essential elements for “organisms”. Although their affinity is low due to insolubility of Fe3+ toward water, metal-chelating organic compounds are used to absorb metals to the organism, which is called as siderophore, (Greek: “iron transporter”). ASP 2397, which consists of several amino acids and is isolated from Acremonium persicinium MF-347833, has been focused on not only property as an iron carries but an antifungal agent against FP1305. Dr. Ohsawa (Grad. Sch. Pharm. Chem.) conducted the total synthesis of ASP 2397, of which synthetic route of key nonproteinogenic amino acid was relatively long. Dr. Tahara has been reported iridium-catalyzed synthesis of π-conjugated enamines from the corresponding amides. In this project, efficient synthesis of ASP 2397 will be developed by interdisciplinary researches between organic and inorganic chemistry. |
