Frontier Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Sciences

The objective of the Frontier Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Sciences (FRIS) is to contribute to the enrichment of human society by supporting the work of young researchers through collaboration with each graduate school and research institute, as well as the Division for Interdisciplinary Advanced Research and Education in Tohoku University. FRIS aims to pioneer and promote interdisciplinary research throuhgh collaboration among different fields.

To achieve the objective above, FRIS has established the following missions and is engaged in a variety of initiatives.
